HPSNZ-Recreation

React Front End Recreation of http://hpsnz.org.nz/

Front end work with React. Fell in love with the High Performance Sports of New Zealand site after seeing it on awwwards and wanted to try to re-create it. I got into using react as there were pieces of it that I saw that could be re-used, but in the end I think React was the wrong framework to use. Still, it was a beautiful site that offered plenty of challenges.

Robert Buck

Rails based portfolio for aritst Robert Buck

On and off work with Robert Buck on developing and modifying his website. Made with Rails. Developed a custom CMS system including authentication to back end. Responsible for taking mock ups and ideas and turning them into components for the front end. Heavy, image based site so time was and still is being spent on trying to optimize loading times while not interrupting the user experience. There are two NSFW images on this site, one in the slide show and one under 'W'. The one in the slideshow takes about a minute to appear.

AWE Inc

NY Based Production Agency that specializes in the marketing and promotion of music entertainment

Purely front end work. AWE had an established site already through Squarespace. The liked using squarespace to host the CMS and I was tasked with modifying the template to a custom liking and creation of new pages and effects. Working through the Squarespace template created challenges that had to be overcome to achieve the desired layout or effect.

More if people ask for them but for now I picked the three most popular (youtube, dailymotion and vimeo) and streamable for game replays. Has a search and popular functionality. API available for people who want to use it. Can also grab videos straight from Reddit subreddits to save a snapshot of the current ranking.

Rails API Application. Was just a fun experiment to have the front end separate from the back end. Controllers generate JSON which the Front End grabs with AJAX calls to display.
